Service privacy notices

We're committed to protecting your privacy when you use our services. We have a data protection officer who makes sure we respect your rights and follow the law.

Personal data

Name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, nationality status, housing tenure and stability, assessment of daily living skills, power of attorney, next of kin details (name, telephone number, email address, address), key safe number, health and safety risk assessments

Special category data

NHS number, health information including mental health, disability status and medical conditions, history of substance misuse and addiction, ethnicity

Purpose for using it

ATS uses your personal data to:

  • conduct assessments for telecare and other assistive technology equipment
  • installation and remedial work of telecare and assistive technology equipment by us or contractors.
  • enable your equipment to be connected to the call monitoring contact centre
  • respond to calls from the telecare and assistive technology equipment, including triaging the call and arranging for relevant support where this is required.
  • To notify you of changes within the service

Lawful basis

ATS uses your personal data under the following categories:

Personal data: processing is necessary for the compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject or processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

Special category: processing is necessary in the field of social protection or processing is necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject or of another natural person or processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest,

namely protecting the public, support for individuals with a particular disability or medical condition, or safeguarding of individuals at risk.

Contract:

We have a contract (telecare agreement) with the individual and we need to process their personal data to comply with our obligations under the contract

  • NHS
  • general practitioners (GPs)
  • social services
  • legal services
  • housing services
  • internal debt recovery services
  • Building and technical services (BTS)
  • finance
  • county and coroners courts
  • fraud services
  • government departments
  • housing associations and social housing providers
  • Installation companies contracted to work on our behalf
  • Call monitoring company

Why we share it with them

We may share your data for the following reasons:

  • To enable telecare and other assistive technology equipment to be installed in your home and remedial works undertaken
  • To arrange installation of Keysafe into resident’s homes where requested
  • To enable calls from the telecare and other assistive technology equipment to be answered, monitored, triaged and managed
  • To raise safeguarding concerns
  • To collect council debts
  • To safeguard individuals
  • To ensure correct invoicing
  • To support investigations into fraud, criminal matters or negligence claims
  • Where we are required to by law

The data will be kept for as long as is necessary in order for us to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected

Exercising your rights

You have the right to ask us to amend or delete your data as well transfer or limit its use. You also have the right to request a review of an automated decision where you think this is wrong.

Each request will be considered individually. Where we are required to keep your data by law we may be unable to action your request. In all circumstances we will explain our decision making in writing to you.
